Today MavenMagnet released a sample network for a company named Pineapple Inc. The network is named StayFit.
 
Disclaimer: Pineapple Inc. is a hypothetical company created to illustrate the functionalities of MavenMagnet. The content on www.stayfit.mavenmagnet.com is purely fictional and has no resemblance to any person or institution. Any resemblance to organizations or persons living or dead is purely coincidental.
 
StayFit gives you a taste of how a company can do subtle branding using the MavenMagnet network. Pineapple Inc. is a company specializing in selling fitness equipments. It developed a social network where people can talk about how to stay fit. By facilitating this network, Pineapple took a broader perspective by addressing an issue which is of interest to its customers and prospective customers alongside subtly branding its products.

 

How did it all begin?

The idea of developing MavenMagnet sparked during a discussion between a couple of geeky software developers and a few passionate marketing professionals during a happy hour event in October of 2008. Within days, four social media enthusiasts left their day jobs and the founding team of MavenMagnet was formed. After about eight months, over a few hundred pizza boxes and lots of soda, the first version was released in May-2009!

Marketers: We want to use the potential of social networks out there, but this is how we can do it today (Oct-2008): 

Software developers: How about we develop a social network just for your organization and try to solve your problems?
